OBJECTIVE: To investigate the birth defect condition in Haidian district of Beijing city, 61,272 live-born infants who were delivered in Haidian Maternal and Child Health Hospital from 2003 to the March of 2009 are analyzed.

OBJECTIVE: To determine causes of death in patients with pure polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) compared to matched population controls.
METHODS: In a population based study from 1987-1997, 315 patients were diagnosed with PMR. The patients were each randomly assigned four population controls, totally 1,260 controls. The date and causes of death were identified from the data files at Statistics Norway up to the end of 1997.

METHODS: Twelve H pylori isolates from histologically confirmed infected patients were cultured on Brucella broth (BB), Brucella broth minus bisulphite (BLBB), and brain-heart infusion broth (BHIB), all supplemented with 5% (v/v) fetal calf serum. Thirteen anaemic children on dialysis were assessed to determine the incidence of cardiac changes in end stage renal failure. Nine children had an increased cardiothoracic ratio on radiography. The electrocardiogram was abnormal in every case but no child had left ventricular hypertrophy as assessed by voltage criteria. We investigated the prevalence of angina (as determined by the Rose Questionnaire) in a random sample of African-American and white adults, aged 44 to 75 years, in three Boston (Mass) neighborhoods.
