The aim of this study is to present an elusive case of primary thyroid lymphoma (PTL), initially thought to be anaplastic thyroid carcinoma, then Rosai Dorfman disease, before the final diagnosis of PTL was made. An elderly female with hypothyroidism presented with compressive airway symptoms secondary to an enlarging neck mass. Imaging was suggestive of undifferentiated thyroid cancer. The initial biopsy was unexpectedly consistent with a lymphoproliferative disorder such as Rosai-Dorfman disease. A repeat biopsy with immunohistochemical analysis yielded a diagnosis of diffuse large B-cell ly

A 77-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital because of right lower abdominal pain. CT revealed tumors in the ileum and uterine cervix. After a gynecological biopsy of the uterine tumor, we diagnosed Stage Ⅳ diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. We treated her with R-THPCOP chemotherapy. On day 8 after the first chemotherapy, she developed perforated peritonitis, and an emergency partial ileum resection was performed. Histopathologically, viable cells were not found in the resected intestine. Chemotherapy was resumed on postoperative day 21, and she achieved a complete response 8 months after the

Primary mediastinal large B cell lymphoma (PMBCL) is an aggressive large B cell lymphoma originating in the mediastinum, that mainly expresses B cell surface molecules, such as CD19, CD20, CD22, andCD79a. Clinically, they are characterized by rapidly increasing anterior mediastinal masses, which can cause compression of the surrounding tissues. The diagnosis of PMBCL mainly depends on the pathological features, imaging examination and clinical features. Currently, the most commonly used therapeutic regimens are R-CHOP and R-EPOCH. Radiotherapy is beneficial in some patients, but it can also le

Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy targeting CD19 may be associated with long-term adverse effects such as cytopenia and immune deficiency. In order to characterize these late events, we analyzed 31 patients with relapsed or refractory large B-cell lymphoma treated with axicabtagene ciloleucel at our institution on two clinical trials, ZUMA-1 (clinicaltrials gov. Identifier: NCT02348216) and ZUMA-9 (clinicaltrials gov. Identifier: NCT03153462). Complete blood counts, lymphocyte subsets, and immunoglobulin levels were measured serially until month 24 or progression. Fifteen (48%) pa

Primary cardiac lymphoma (PCL) is one of the rarest tumors and the most common type is large B-cell lymphoma. The right atrium and right ventricle are the most often involved, which should be diagnosed and treated in time. In this case, a female patient underwent an emergency surgical treatment for a large pericardial effusion and a huge mass in the right atrium. The huge mass was resected successfully. The pathological evaluation suggested that PCL and staging systemic chemotherapy were initiated according to the result, which significantly improve the prognosis of and quality of life.

Objective: To investigate the occurrence and influencing factors of anemia in lymphoma patients and its effect on treatment. Methods: A total of 501 lymphoma patients, who were hospitalized in four general hospitals in Shanghai from January 2017 to June 2018, were followed up for six months. The clinical data about anemia were collected and statistically analyzed. Results: Among all the enrollment patients, there were 178 patients (35.5%) had anemia. Among 289 patients whom were initially treated for lymphoma, there were 99 patients (34.3%) with anemia. In the following-up time, there were 136

An excess of exhausted T cells may explain why some patients with large B-cell lymphoma do not benefit from chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells, a recent study concludes. The research also shows that patients with monocyte-like cells in their infusions are more likely to develop severe neurologic side effects. The study suggests measures to increase the effectiveness and safety of CAR T-cell products.

AIM: Gastro-splenic fistula is a rare entity in which malignant tumors are the primary cause, followed by perforated peptic ulcers and Crohn's disease.
CASE REPORT: A 66 years old patient undergoing chemotherapy for gastric large cells B lymphoma presented fever, fatigue and worsening of general conditions. A CT scan showed the presence of an abdominal abscess resulting from a pathological communication between stomach and spleen.
RESULTS: En - bloc splenectomy and gastric wedge resection was performed; gastric wall was sutured with a linear stapler. Postoperative stay was uneventful; alimen

The authors compare a rare case of acute onset Gastric Lymphoma with that present in the literature. The patient, a white 67 year-old man, was admitted to hospital in severe general condition. On CT scan an opacity of the pleura and a subtotal collapse of the left lung associated with a mass infiltrating the diaphragm, the gastric fundus and pancreas were seen. After 48 hours from the admission an operation was performed. The abdominal mass infiltrating the stomach, the spleen and the left thorax was resected en-bloc by laparotomy. A Boulau drainage was inserted. The histology showed an high m

The clinico-pathological characteristics of a 22 years old mestizo mexican patient with immunoproliferative small intestinal disease (IPSID) are described. The patient coursed with chronic diarrhea, malabsorption, and a 30 kg weight loss. The laboratory tests revealed hypokalemia, hypocalcemia, hypoalbuminemia and decreased levels of immunoglobulins. The histological changes in the endoscopic biopsies included a dense lymphoplasmacytic infiltrate in the lamina propria that produced vellosity blunting and distortion of the crypts. The immunohistochemical analysis disclosed that almost every cel
