Therapy based on the protective passive immunity of Hyperimmune Bovine Colostrum (HBC) (raised against Cryptosporidium parvum in dairy cows immunized during gestation) was tested for heterologous efficacy in subclinical and clinical infections of 12 captive snakes with C. serpentis. We have determined the kinetics of the cellular viability ratio (CVR), defined as the number of living cells over the total cell count, in pig kidneys using propidium iodide and fluorescein diacetate staining, as a function of time and preservation conditions. FF cellular expression of estrogen receptor-related small heat-shock protein (HSP27) in meningiomas was investigated immunologically. BACKGROUND: Gestational trophoblastic neoplasms comprise the neoplastic spectrum of nonmalignant hydatidiform mole, invasive hydatidiform mole, and truly malignant choriocarcinoma. Increasing evidence indicates that epidermal growth factor (EGF) acts as an enhancer of trophoblast function to produce human chorionic gonadotropin and that EGF and its receptor may provide a growth advantage to certain carcinoma cells. The current study was undertaken to evaluate a possible link between malignant transformation of trophoblast and expression of EGF and EGF receptor.
