Strategies to improve permanent placement of older youth in foster care.

PURPOSE: For youth in foster care achieving permanency is a central goal and is strongly linked to improved long-term outcomes for youth; however, adolescents and young adults ages 14-21 continue to face significant barriers to forming stable, enduring family connections. Placement instability often increases during adolescence, and despite federal policy initiatives aimed at improving permanency, many older youths experience frequent placement disruptions and exit care without lasting supportive relationships. This gap underscores the need for targeted, developmentally appropriate strategies

Validation of a Clinical Decision-Support Algorithm for Chronic Wound Classification and Treatment: An Expert Consensus.

Accurate chronic wound classification is essential for appropriate management, yet diagnostic variability persists in routine practice. Transparent, rule-based decision-support tools may improve standardisation but require validation against expert judgement under clearly defined conditions. To evaluate inter-expert agreement, agreement between a rule-based algorithm and an expert-consensus reference standard, diagnostic accuracy as a complementary measure, exploratory comparison with a non-expert nurse, and expert agreement with algorithm-generated therapeutic recommendations.
