The photocatalytic oxidation of methyl orange under weak illumination conditions was carried out in two different types of fluidized bed reactors. TiO2 powder was employed as the photocatalysts and a 15 W low pressure mercury lamp was used as the light source and the reactor volume was 2.5 l. Our knowledge on the bonding mechanisms between the metal and ceramic parts of dental systems is very limited. This work tested the hypothesis that the details of the interface processes can be described in the framework of a chemical diffusion model. The development of interfacial phases was investigated by cross-sectional analytical transmission electron microscopy between a NiCr (Wiron 99) alloy and three different dental ceramics (Carat, Vita VMK 95, and Vision). All systems were investigated at normal firing conditions (suggested by the manufacturer) and at increased firing times as well.

The decomposition of gas-phase trichloroethene (TCE) in air streams by direct photolysis, the UV/TiO2 and UV/O3 processes was studied. In the present work, photocatalytic degradation of volatile organic compounds including gas-phase trichloroethylene (TCE), acetone, methanol and toluene over illuminated TiO2 was closely examined in a batch photoreactor as a function of water vapor, molecular oxygen and reaction temperature. We report a case of a 39-year-old man who was found to have an hemangioma which extended from the hypopharynx to the upper thoracic esophagus revealed by endoscopic examination. The purpose of this study was to examine the long-term retention of F and Ti in dentin after a brief application of 1% TiF4. Six facets of exposed dentin in each of four beagle dogs were treated for 10 sec or 1 min with a 1% solution of TiF4. Four control facets in a fifth dog were left untreated and extracted after 12 weeks. The ammoximation of cyclohexanone using preformed hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is currently applied commercially to produce cyclohexanone oxime, an important feedstock in nylon-6 production.
