AIM: To evaluate the occurrence of melanoma in the period 1996-2017 in East Bohemia region in the Czech Republic.
METHOD: We studied the incidence of melanoma and the age of diagnosis (adjusted calculation) and the parameters such as histology, body site of lesions, the length of the duration of lesions in 2810 patients.

We present a case patient in her second trimester of pregnancy who developed acute liver failure from metastatic neuroendocrine tumor (NET). The incidence and patient survival rates of melanoma have increased over the last several decades, with a growing population of patients who develop multiple primary melanomas (MPMs). Adenosquamous carcinoma of the breast (ASBC) is a rare variant of metaplastic breast cancer with both glandular as well as squamous differentiation. Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors (MPNST) are rare. But especially in patients with known neurofibromatosis type 1 (von Recklinghausen), this entity of tumors should not be forgotten. The indication for open biopsy or excision should be made generously. In the following, we report a rare case of MPNST, which highlights the importance of rapid diagnosis and treatment.

BACKGROUND: Our purpose was to assess the clinicopathological features and surgical outcomes of combined hepatocellular-cholangiocarcinoma (HCC-CC) in an Asian center.
METHODS: Between 1998 and 2009, 27 patients were diagnosed with combined HCC-CC at our hospital. Their medical records were reviewed and clinicopathological data retrospectively analyzed.

We report a case of primary SCC of ampulla of Vater coexistent with well-differentiated adenocarcinoma of the distal pancreatic duct. The term "melanocytic nevus" comprises a group of clinically and pathologically distinct subtypes. In this prospective clinical study we evaluated the frequency, localization, and age and gender distribution of flat nevi (FN), Miescher nevi (MN), and Unna nevi (UN) in a caucasian population. The optic nerve glioma is a relatively rare pathology in children and only a few cases have been described in infants. This paper reports the symptoms of this exceptional case in a 4-month-old child and reviews the differential diagnoses at this age. Finally, we discuss the diagnosis and therapeutic possibilities.

Sessile serrated adenoma (SSA) is a newly characterized type of the large bowel adenoma. It arises in hyperplastic polyp (HP) and represents a precursor lesion of colorectal carcinoma with microsatellite instability.
