Remote patient monitoring (RPM) has shown promise in aiding safe and efficient remote care for chronic conditions; however, its use remains more limited within the hospital at home (HaH) model of care despite a significant opportunity to increase patient eligibility, improve safety, and decrease costs. Pseudophakic cystoid macular edema (PCME) is the most common complication following cataract surgery. In 1-3% of cases it is associated with a decrease in visual acuity. However, PCME has a good prognosis, persisting in only 10% of the patients beyond 2 years. The prophylactic therapy of eyes without additional disease with non-steroidal antiphlogistic drugs or steroids does not influence the final visual acuity. PURPOSE: To show the importance of ocular biometry in establishing the power of intraocular lens.
MATERIAL AND METHOD: We studied 212 eyes operated in the University Eye Hospital from Cluj-Napoca by planned extracapsular extraction with intraocular lens implantation. Before operation there was performed ocular biometry, using SRK II formulas for calculation of intraocular lens.
