Integrating an energy conversion or storage device with photodetectors into a self-powered system provides a promising route to future devices aimed at reduced size, low weight and high flexibility. Sorption behavior of tin (Sn) in Japanese agricultural soils was studied. Soil-soil solution distribution coefficient (K(d)) of Sn (K(d)-Sn) for 142 soil samples ranged between 128 and 1,590,000 L kg(-1) with the geometric mean of 12 400 L kg(-1). The K(d)-Sn values for Andosol tended to be higher than those of the other soil groups. Alum is often added to eutrophic lakes to limit the release of phosphorus from sediments. This study quantified the effect of age and extent of crystallization on the phosphate (PO4-P) sorption capacity of alum floc. Many people who complain of excessive sweating have primary hyperhidrosis. This idiopathic disorder is characterised by excessive, bilateral and roughly symmetrical sweating, most commonly affecting the axillae, palms, feet and face. For some patients, excessive sweating is intolerable as it stains and damages clothes, reduces confidence and limits social contact. Treatment options have been limited but now include botulinum toxin for severe axillary hyperhidrosis. Here we review treatments for primary focal hyperhidrosis, focusing on axillary sweating.

Aluminum is a xenobiotic element known to induce hepatorenal toxicity through mechanisms involving mitochondrial dysfunction, oxidative stress, and inflammation. Quercetin, a dietary flavonoid with potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, has shown promise as a therapeutic agent. This study aimed to evaluate the potential therapeutic effects of quercetin against aluminum chloride (AlCl₃)-induced hepatorenal toxicity and mitochondrial dysfunction in rats. In order to determine the embryotoxic and teratogenic potential of aluminum, pregnant Sprague-Dawley rats were treated by gavage with a daily dose of 180, 360, or 720 mg/kg of aluminum nitrate from the sixth through to the fourteenth day of gestation.
