PURPOSE: Treatment with H2 receptor antagonists may cause the heart to be more susceptible to atrioventricular conduction delay when exposed to an overwhelming insult by histamine released during an anaphylactic reaction. A 32 year old male research physician accidentally received a minor wound from a needle which had been previously used on rabbit tissue. The frequency of food-induced anaphylactic shocks (FIAS) has been investigated beside 46 emergency departments, 29 departments of Dermatology, and 19 departments of Intern Medicine or Pneumology. 794 A.S. have been reported. A variety of systemic reactions associated with exercise are recognized. This article describes three cases of anaphylaxis induced by exercise within 2 hours after the ingestion of causative foods. Their symptoms were urticaria, angioedema, bronchial asthma, fall in blood pressure and syncope. Cases #1 and #3 showed exercise-induced anaphylaxis after ingestion of wheat. This is one of the first reported cases of storage mite anaphylaxis in Australia, occurring in an infant who had two episodes of severe anaphylaxis, triggered by previously tolerated foods. Both episodes occurred following extended periods of food storage, and in both instances, the child required two doses of intramuscular adrenaline.
