Natural killer (NK) cells are critical components of the first-line immune defense, responsible for eliminating tumorigenic cells. NK cell-based adoptive immunotherapy has gained increasing attention; however, cryopreservation, a standard technique for NK cell storage, significantly impairs NK cell cytotoxicity, particularly in physiological 3D environments. Here, we demonstrate that short-term co-culture with effector T cells markedly enhances NK cell motility and killing functionality. Myelomatous effusion (ME) is a rare manifestation of extramedullary multiple myeloma (MM) with limited therapeutic options and poor outcomes. Natural killer (NK) cells belong to innate immune system that are large granular lymphocytes differentiating from the common lymphoid progenitors. EBV-associated lymphoproliferative disorders (EBV-LPD) are a significant problem after hemopoietic stem cell transplantation from unrelated donors or mismatched family members. Risk factors include T-cell depletion, MHC mismatch, and intensity of immunosuppression. New therapeutic strategies involve cellular immunotherapy approaches and both donor T-cells and EBV-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) have proven to be effective therapies. EBV-specific CTL has also proved to have a major impact on the incidence of this complication when used prophylactically.

In 52 conceptuses with known genomic origin, the HLA types expressed on whole villi and/or stromal cell cultures were compared with the HLA types of the patients.
