This article raises questions about some of the perverse effects of the reasoning behind correlations between sex and health in our socio-cultural context. Such a reasoning strongly denounces the psychosocial problems of women, but tends to forget the vulnerability of men which is nonetheless clearly evident in official statistics on suicide, dependence on alcohol and other drugs, violence and itinerancy.

Data from the June 1980 Current Population Survey on fathers' reported provision of financial support to children from previous marriages living elsewhere is compared to previously published tabulations from the April 1979 CPS of women's receipt of child support payments. The comparison indicates that the number of men with children from previous marriages living elsewhere is substantially underreported in the June 1980 CPS. Because of the apparent underreporting, the data on the provision of financial support should be interpreted with caution.

The characteristics of suicide victims have not been studied systematically in Arab countries. A questionnaire-guided interview of families of 29 Bahraini suicide cases from 1996 to 2005 was conducted in their homes by a social worker. Medical and psychiatric files were examined to complete the data. BACKGROUND: This study aimed to assess the factors associated with marital dissolution among women in Cameroon.
METHODS: The 2018 Cameroon Demographic and Health Survey data was used. A sample of 4,562 women was selected from the domestic violence module. Frequency distributions, Chi-square tests, and Complementary Loglog regressions were used to establish the factors that were associated with marital dissolution among married women in Cameroon.

This case study presents a young woman who developed a severe obsessive-compulsive disorder after a routine medical procedure. Over a two-year period the families of twenty-five children with cancer and of a comparison group of children brought to a general pediatric clinic were studied by means of the Holmes-Rahe Life Schedule of Recent Events and by personal interviews.
