A shepherd's crook deformity with an intracapsular femoral neck fracture in the fibrous dysplasia of a 19-year-old woman is reported. BACKGROUND: In traumatology, the search for better surgical access points has led to the increased use of the minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis (MIPO) technique. There are few studies on the treatment of distal fibular fractures with MIPO. BACKGROUND: Vascularized fibula epiphysis transfer for pediatric extremity reconstruction intends to preserve growth potential. However, few cases are reported, and outcomes are poorly characterized.
METHODS: Systematic review was performed through a MEDLINE search using keywords "pediatric" or "epiphyseal" and "vascularized fibula." Patients were divided into upper extremity or lower extremity groups. Functional and growth outcomes were assessed, and indications, pedicle, complications, and need for secondary surgery were recorded.

CASE: A 44-year-old man presented after a motor vehicle crash and was found to have a right tibial plateau fracture and an (initially missed) ipsilateral syndesmotic injury in the setting of a completely intact fibula. He was managed with open reduction and internal fixation of the tibial plateau and syndesmosis.
CONCLUSION: This case represents a novel Maisonneuve-equivalent injury pattern. This diagnosis should be considered in patients with ankle pain in the setting of ipsilateral tibial plateau fracture, and internal fixation of both injuries represents an appropriate treatment option.

A young adult male presented with an open tibia-fibula fracture, extensive circumferential soft tissue loss and exposed bone. Although the fracture sites were stabilised by an external fixator, chronic infection complicated this 2-week-old wound. Treatment by amputation was elected. Local skin alone was inadequate for coverage of a preferred below-knee amputation. As an alternative to above-knee amputation, the patient underwent coverage of a below-knee amputation using a musculocutaneous island pedicle flap of sensate plantar skin and muscle.

Bosworth fracture (BF) is a rare, but a severe injury to the ankle, characterized by displacement of a fragment of the fractured fibula (mostly of Weber B type) from the tibiofibular incisure to the posterior surface of the distal tibia.
