CASE: A 17-year-old boy presented with an open talus fracture complicated by soot contamination after a chimney-related accident. Standard irrigation and debridement (I&D) methods were used, but complete removal of soot was not possible. CASE: A nonverbal 2-year-old boy presented with acute-on-chronic thoracolumbar fracture-subluxation with associated chylothorax and progressive neurologic dysfunction secondary to nonaccidental trauma.
