Lipoblastomatosis is an extremely rare condition and is often not recognized prior to final pathologic analysis. OBJECTIVE: To explore the possibility of subtotal laryngectomy in the treatment of advanced laryngeal cancer and selection of reconstruction.
METHODS: Forty patients were treated surgically by subtotal laryngectomy with preservation of arytenoid cartilage and perichondrium. The pedicled flaps between cricoid cartilage and arytenoid cartilage were sewed up. The new larynx was reconstructed by suturing the cricoid or trachea to the hyoid bone or the tongue base.
RESULTS: The 3 and 5 year survival rates were 85.0% and 76.2% respectively. Decannulation rate was 92.5%.

In a review of 141 patients with thyroglossal duct cysts between 1961 and 1981, 28 patients were found to have surgical treatment for recurrent cysts and sinuses. Recurrent disease following surgical failure results in a high incidence of fistula formation. In the operative treatment of recurrent disease, all patients had a segment of hyoid bone excised. This retrospective evaluation of surgical outcomes for hyomandibular suspension when performed with uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (UPPP) for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). OBJECTIVE: To treat OSAHS with hyoid suspension and evaluate treating effect.
METHOD: Twenty-eight patients of median, severe OSAHS were treat with functional endoscopic sinus surgery, UPPP+ hyoid suspension. The length of follow up was 6 months. PSG was used for diagnosis and pre up, post up evaluation.
RESULT: AHI of 28 patients reduced from (52.8 +/- 21.4)h to (15.2 +/- 13.3)h (P < 0.05). Effective rate is 85.7%.
CONCLUSION: Hyoid suspension is an effective method of safety, simplicity, few complications.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate oropharyngeal complex differences related to sex and occlusal factors in adolescents.
METHODS: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 108 patients aged 12-17 years. The oropharyngeal complex was evaluated by imaging exams. Occlusal variables included molar relationship, facial growth pattern, maxilla shape, tooth loss, anterior crossbite, and anterior open bite.
