A case of lithiasis in a front diverticulum of the urethra in male is presented. The unusual presentation it had together with the lack of frequency was pointed out, commenting briefly the diagnostic methods and ways of treatment.

PURPOSE: To compare anthropometric data (body mass index [BMI]) in patients without lithiasis to patients with symptomatic simple cholelithiasis or choledocholithiasis.
METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed data from 147 patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy between 2001-2015. Complete growth data from 98 patients was compared with anthropometric data from the population of the Czech Republic and a control group (BMI of 100 consecutive patients without biliary stones in abdominal ultrasound who were admitted to a surgical department for suspected appendicitis).

Gallbladder granulomas are exceedingly rare, reported in association with tuberculosis or sarcoidosis. Here we report a case of gallbladder granulomatous cholecystitis occurring in the context of sarcoidosis. A 70-years old man presented with abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. BACKGROUND: Hypouricemia can be observed in uncommon situations as in our two patients with hereditary xanthinuria.
CASE REPORTS: In the first case, hereditary xanthinuria was discovered in a 36-year-old man when routine tests revealed hypouricemia. In the second case, a 76-year-old woman, hypouricemia was also a fortuitous discovery. She had major xanthinuria and a radiotranslucid lithiasis in the right kidney.

A total of 21 cases are presented, of patients in whom Oddian sphincteroplasty was performed, according to an original technique. In 19 cases the indication was due to Oddian stenosis associated to lithiasis or hepatic hydatic cysts which had ruptured in the biliary pathways. A rare observation of the gall bladder polyposis in a woman of 56 with clinical symptoms of chronic cholecystitis is described. In this case, polyposis of the gall bladder was combined with extensive extra- and intrahepatic lithiasis. The observation is compared with reports in the literature.

PURPOSE: To compare the efficacy and safety of the electromagnetic lithotripter in the treatment of pediatric lithiasis to that of the earlier electrohydraulic model.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Two groups of children with lithiasis aged between 10 and 180 months who underwent extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL). In the first group (26 children), ESWL was performed by using the electrohydraulic MPL 9000X Dornier lithotripter between 1994 and 2003 while in the second group (19 children) the electromagnetic EMSE 220 F--XP Dornier lithotripter was used from April 2003 to May 2006.

Mirizzi syndrome is a rare complication of chronic gallstone disease characterised by the compression of the common bile duct due to an impacted lithiasis in the infundibulum of the gallbladder or cystic duct.
