Eleven cases of alimentary lymphoma affecting the ileum were observed among 26 cases of swine lymphoma detected by meat inspection in Kochi, Japan. The ileal lymphomas were located in the Peyer's patches, along with early involvement of regional lymph nodes, and showed a characteristic pattern of follicular invasion leading to diffuse growth. A 75-year-old man was admitted to our hospital on June 1st, 1993, because of nasal obstruction, epistaxis, fever, night sweats and weight loss. Examination disclosed a 2-cm white necrotic mass in the nasal septum, and a biopsy disclosed non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, diffuse, mixed-type. A 27 year old HIV infected man presented with two days of haemoptysis. Flexible bronchoscopy revealed a large carinal mass partially obstructing the left and right main stem bronchi. Rigid bronchoscopy was required to make the diagnosis of large cell immunoblastic lymphoma.

AIMS: A histopathological review of 43 cases of childhood non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) in an attempt to identify histological variables of prognostic importance.

Patients with malignant lymphoma may have cutaneous and subcutaneous involvement that exhibits a striking symmetry about the coronal axis. The symmetry of these lesions may be caused by site-specific migration from the circulation, preferential proliferation by lymphocytes of the neoplastic clones at defined anatomical sites, or both mechanisms. Similar behaviour by benign lymphocytes may explain the symmetry and selective anatomical distribution of lesions in other skin diseases.

Peripheral T-cell lymphoma is the most common type of T-cell lymphoma seen in adults in the United States. Clinical data were reviewed from 134 cases of peripheral T-cell lymphoma diagnosed in three centers. The median age of the patients was 57 years (range, 4-97 years), 59% were male, and 36 patients (27%) had a history of a preceding disorder of the immune system. Retroviruses are single stranded RNA viruses that possess a unique enzyme, reverse transcriptase. This enzyme facilitates the synthesis of double stranded DNA intermediates able to integrate into the genome of the host cell. The histologic features of an epidermotropic cutaneous lymphoma in a dog are presented. The neoplasm, which was intensely epidermotropic, thoroughly invaded the follicular and apocrine gland epithelium. The intense epidermotropism was retained in the tumor stage. By comparison to human mycosis fungoides, the cell nucleus was less convoluted and the infiltrate was less polymorphic. Fifty-one patients with lymphoblastic lymphoma (LBL) treated with one of five successive intensive chemotherapy protocols for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) since 1971 were reviewed. The patients were divided into leukemic and nonleukemic groups, and their clinical and laboratory parameters compared. The projected 5-year survival rate for all patients treated with the L10/17 protocols was 45% for both leukemic and nonleukemic LBL.
