Trichinella spiralis and related species of Trichinella have had a long history of causing human disease, and as a foodborne pathogen have had a major impact on international commerce of pork and other meat animal species which are known to transmit the parasite. Our knowledge of Trichinella has increased substantially over the past few years particularly in the areas of phylogeny, host diversity, epidemiology and control. Forty-five people who had attended a wedding banquet were examined by means of both Avidin-Biotin Peroxidase Complex-ELISA (ABC-ELISA) and Kato stool thick smear technic. The results revealed that the positive rates with ABC-ELISA were 15.56% (7/45) and Kato Katz 0.62% (1/161). There was a significant difference between the two positive rates (p < 0.005). Six people at the wedding had taeniasis and 4 of them also had cysticercosis. Cross-sectional surveys were conducted to determine the prevalence and associated risk factors of Taenia solium cysticercosis in pigs within Nay Pyi Taw area, Myanmar. Meat inspection in three slaughterhouses, ELISA test, and questionnaire surveys were conducted in this study. BACKGROUND: This study was carried out to evaluate the epidemiological studies of trichinellosis in five states of North East India from Apr 2016 to Dec 2017.
METHODS: Overall, 865 different meat samples for detection of Trichinella larvae and 1580 sera samples for detection of anti-Trichinella antibody were collected. Intensity of infection with Trichinella larvae in meat was determined by HCL: Pepsin digestion procedure and anti-Trichinella IgG in serum were detected using excretory/secretory antigens, according to validated ELISA.

Diarrheagenic E. coli (DEC) isolates were recovered from local retail markets and the Osaka Municipal Central Wholesale Market in Japan. Retail food samples were collected for analysis in Osaka Japan from 2005 to 2008 and consisted of 32 beef, 28 pork, 20 poultry, 136 fish, 66 fruits and vegetables and 51 ready-to-eat (RTE) food samples. Staphylococcus aureus strains carrying enterotoxin A gene (sea) causes food poisoning and cannot be distinguished from non-pathogenic strains by the culture method.
