A study was carried out to determine the serum vitamin A levels of 250 preschool children in a rural community in eastern Nigeria. The children were aged between 2 months and 5 years and comprised 117 boys and 133 girls. A total of 23 (9.2%) children had 'deficient levels' (< 10 micrograms/dl) and 41 (16.4%) had 'low levels' (< 20 micrograms/dl) according to the Interdepartmental Committee on Nutrition for National Defence criteria for the interpretation of serum vitamin A levels. In our practice we had constantly been under the impression that most Arab patients with RA tend to have a non-aggressive and rather nondisabling disease. OBJECTIVE: To examine the associations of anemia with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and learning disability in US children.
STUDY DESIGN: We included children and adolescents aged 3-17 years from the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS), 1997-2018. Information about physician-diagnosed history of anemia, ASD, ADHD, and learning disability was reported by a parent or guardian. Multiple logistic regression with sample weights was used to estimate the ORs and 95% CIs of neurodevelopmental disorders according to the presence of anemia.

We aimed to assess the acute effects of ambient air pollution and weather conditions on mortality in the context of Chinese smog episodes. A total of 209,321 deaths were recorded in Jinan, a large city in eastern China, during 2011-15. The pediatric population is composed of persons under 16 years of age, and few studies are available on the dermatological diseases of this group. In the present study, data on a total of 6300 pediatric patients admitted between the years 2004-2006 were analyzed. Hospital-based patient registry records were used for data collection.
