OBJECTIVE: To compare the efficacy of the 3-instillation regime with the 9-instillation regime of 1% silver nitrate solution for renal pelvic instillation sclerotherapy in patients with chyluria.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: 59 Patients with chyluria were prospectively evaluated and randomized into two groups. The study group received 3 instillations (n = 29) while the control group received 9 instillations (n = 30). 1% silver nitrate was used.

Silver Russell Syndrome (SRS) is a rare condition (1/3000 - 1/100,000 newborns). We present a female infant with SRS, cardiac malposition and asymmetric enlargement of the clitoris. She is the first child of Greek nonconsanguinous parents, born at 38 weeks gestation, following in vitro fertilisation (IVF). We study the spreading characteristics of a reactive-wetting system of mercury (Hg) droplets on silver (Ag) films in room temperature. This is done using our recently developed method for reconstructing the dynamical three-dimensional shape of spreading droplets from two-dimensional microscope images [A. Be'er and Y. Lereah, J. The degeneration process of Pick's bodies (PB) was investigated using methenamine-silver (MS) staining and immunohistochemistry. Methenamine-silver staining sensitively detected extracellular PB as well as intracellular PB in the granular cell layer of the dentate gyrus. A new, simple and effective local treatment of allergic and vasomotor rhinitis is presented. Using 15 per cent silver nitrate, bilateral chemical cautery of the anterior part of the nasal septum and inferior turbinates has been carried out at weekly intervals on 1 to 5 occasions, in 41 cases.
