PURPOSE: To present a young female patient with left anterior orbital leiomyoma that originates from the supraorbital neurovascular bundle.
CASE PRESENTATION: A 41-year-old female patient was admitted to our clinic with a complaint of swelling of the left upper eyelid. Based on the ophthalmological and imaging assessments, the excisional biopsy with the preliminary diagnosis of dermoid cyst was planned. The histopathological and immunohistochemical examinations of excised sample revealed surprisingly that the tumour was a leiomyoma. No recurrence was detected in the patient's follow-up.

Leiomyosarcomas, neoplasms of smooth muscle, are rarely found within the orbit. Orbital leiomyosarcoma may be primary, metastatic, or secondary to radiation. When they are metastatic, patients almost exclusively have a history of a primary leiomyosarcoma, often occurring in the spermatic cord, skin, gastrointestinal tract, or the uterus. We present the case of 48-year-old woman who presented with a metastatic orbital leiomyosarcoma, which was identified before the primary tumor.

Orbital cellulitis is a serious sight threatening and potentially life threatening condition which can be complicated by orbital abscess formation. Posterior subtenon (PST) injection of corticosteroid is commonly used in the treatment of posterior segment inflammation including post-operative macular oedema. We report a case of orbital abscess formation as a late complication of PST triamcinolone acetonide and discuss the presentation, diagnosis and management.

PURPOSE: This is a case report of an unusual case of the family transmission of Streptococcus pyogenes infection in three siblings. One brother contracted the infection which resulted in orbital cellulitis of two of his siblings, in the absence of anatomical or immunological predisposing factors.
