The influence of stress as a precipitating factor associated with the onset of type 1 diabetes have been widely studied in the literature. The relationship between physical and psychological traumas and diabetes has been rarely studied in the military environment. Posttraumatic diabetes is a controversial topic. We here report the case of a Tunisian soldier, with no previous medical and family history of autoimmune disease who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes after a physical aggression occurred during a social conflict between the forces of law and order and the citizens.

The present study explores reports of growth in survivors and family members of victims of state terrorism (N = 254) in Chile from 1973 to 1990. BACKGROUND: The 2013-2016 West African Ebola outbreak infected 28,616 people and caused 11,310 deaths by 11 May 2016, across six countries. The outbreak has also resulted in the largest number of EVD survivors in history-over 17,000. Guinea was declared Ebola-free on 1 June 2016. Reports from the outbreak documented 3814 cases resulting in 2544 deaths and 1270 survivors. EVD survivors face various neuropsychological and psycho-affective alterations that have not been fully identified yet. BACKGROUND: Mind-body practices are increasingly used to provide stress reduction for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Mind-body practice encompasses activities with the intent to use the mind to impact physical functioning and improve health.
METHODS: This is a literature review using PubMed, PsycINFO, and Published International Literature on Traumatic Stress to identify the effects of mind-body intervention modalities, such as yoga, tai chi, qigong, mindfulness-based stress reduction, meditation, and deep breathing, as interventions for PTSD.

The coexistent appearance of delusions of pregnancy and infestation is reported in a male patient with posttraumatic epilepsy. While published organic cases of delusions of pregnancy have involved patients with severe or mild mental retardation, our reported patient had a higher than average IQ. The interpretative role of these delusions in a probable perceptual symptomatology cannot be excluded, as both delusions can be based on sensations in the abdomen or on the skin.
