Bleeding pelvic fractures that result in haemodynamic instability have a reported mortality rate as high as 40%. Because of the extreme force needed to disrupt the pelvic ring, associated injuries are common and mortality is usually from uncontrolled haemorrhage from extra-pelvic sources. The aim of this retrospective study was to analyse the clinical, functional and radiographic outcomes of patients sustaining traumatic anterior dislocations of the shoulder in combination with large anterior glenoid rim fractures, treated by open reduction and internal screw fixation (ORIF). Twenty-nine patients with a mean follow-up of 6.5 years (2.5-12 years) were evaluated clinically using the Constant and DASH scores, radiographs in two planes and isokinetic muscle strength measurement (Biodex 3 PRO). Mean age was 41.6 years (17-68 years). There was no case of postoperative re-dislocation.

PURPOSE: To report long term treatment outcomes of osteofibrous dysplasia and association with adamantinoma.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: From January 1984 to July 2001, 14 patients with osteofibrous dysplasia were followed for an average of 108 months (78 to 260 months). METHODS: The study included 22 children (14 boys, 8 girls; mean age 8+/-7 years) who were treated for chronic osteomyelitis. We performed five reconstructions by bone transport in patients with bone sarcoma: three osteosarcomas, one Ewing's sarcoma and one chondrosarcoma. Four sarcomas were in the distal femur and one in the shaft of the tibia. Four patients received multidrug chemotherapy.
