BACKGROUND: A common pharmacologic test for the diagnosis of primary aldosteronism (PA) is the administration of captopril to determine whether an abnormal plasma aldosterone concentration (PAC) to plasma renin activity (PRA) ratio(ARR) persists, although active renin concentration (ARC) may offer advantages with regard to processing and standardization.
METHODS: A prospective, head-to-head study was conducted between Feb 2008 and Dec 2008. One hundred and fourteen patients enrolled and received captopril to aid in the diagnosis of PA in the TAIPAI intervention.

Primary aldosteronism (PA) is associated with vascular end organ damage. The aim of the study was to evaluate differences regarding comorbidities depending on tumor size in patients with aldosterone producing adenoma (APA). The retrospective cross-sectional study was done by collection from 6 German centers (German Conn's registry) between 1990 and 2007. PURPOSE: To evaluate adequate criteria for adrenal vein sampling values in patients with aldosterone producing adrenal adenoma (APA), retrospectively.

Using the transperitoneal, laparoscopic approach, we performed 67 successful adrenalectomies between June 1993 and July 1995 at Greenslopes Hospital, Brisbane. There were 30 women and 37 men.
