Peribiliary cysts involve cystic dilation of the extramural peribiliary glands in the liver hilum and portal tracts. Most peribiliary cysts are asymptomatic. We present the case of a patient without any prior liver disease who developed obstructive jaundice and a liver abscess due to peribiliary cysts. Peribiliary cysts usually appear in patients with severe chronic liver disease and are asymptomatic, although they sometimes appear in patients without prior liver disease and cause serious complications.

Mg-based metallic materials have been making continuing progress as vascular stents. However, the research of Mg-based materials as non-vascular stents is still at its primary stage. AZ31 stents hereby were implanted into the common bile duct of rabbits for 6 months. Study of 462 patients with occupational pulmonary diseases revealed that hepatobiliary diseases are among concomitants of occupational COLD. Inflammatory changes in gallbladder and bile ducts with bile dyskinesia are first manifestations of such diseases developing early at chronic nonobstructive bronchitis stage. Shortly, hepatosteatosis adds to these disorders. Final stage of the pathologic process in some patients is bile stones or liver cirrhosis.

BACKGROUND: Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) has been used increasingly for the treatment of choledocholithiasis, gallstone pancreatitis, and benign or malignant bile duct or pancreatic duct stenosis.
