PURPOSE: To evaluate the intermediate-term efficacy and safety of micropulsed diode laser cyclophotocoagulation in recurrent pediatric glaucoma.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: A prospective interventional study included children <16 years old diagnosed with recurrent glaucoma, attending Mansoura University, during the period from July 2017 to November 2017. Micropulsed diode laser sessions were performed in all the cases. The main outcome was the intraocular pressure reduction with monitoring of complications as secondary outcome. The mean follow-up period was 15.08 ± 1.1 (mean: 12-16) months.

PURPOSE: To report the long-term outcome of early secondary intraocular lens (IOL) implantation following congenital cataract extraction in a large number of eyes.
METHODS: Data of aphakic children under 30 months of age who underwent secondary IOL implantation and had at least one year of follow-up after the surgery was reviewed. In all of the patients, a foldable three-piece acrylic IOL was implanted in the ciliary sulcus by the same surgeon using the same technique. BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: To evaluate ruthenium-106 (Ru106) brachytherapy as eye-conserving treatment of iris melanomas (IMs) and iridociliary melanomas (ICMs).
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Eighty-eight patients received Ru106 brachytherapy between 2006 and 2016. Primary outcome was local control, and secondary outcomes were metastasis, survival, eye preservation, complications and visual acuity (VA).

OBJECTIVE: To report the occurrence of 5 cases of Urrets-Zavalia syndrome after transscleral diode laser cyclophotocoagulation (TSCPC).
DESIGN: Retrospective cases series.
METHODS: A review of the charts of 5 patients treated with TSCPC as primary glaucoma surgery who developed Urrets-Zavalia syndrome.
RESULTS: A total of 8 eyes of 5 patients developed a fixed and dilated pupil after TSCPC, unresponsive to light. A mydriatic pupil could still be observed at least 6 months after treatment in 7 of 8 eyes; however, it was asymptomatic.

We describe a case of pigmentary dispersion syndrome resulting from secondary piggyback implantation of a 3-piece hydrophobic acrylic squared-edged intraocular lens (IOL) in the ciliary sulcus. The intraocular pressure remained elevated despite pharmacological treatment, with a heavily pigmented trabecular meshwork. The piggyback IOL was subsequently explanted and replaced by a silicone IOL with smooth round edges. Examination of the explanted IOL under light and scanning electron microscopy showed clusters of pigment epithelial cells located around the periphery of the anterior optic surface.
