Colostomy irrigation (CI) is the regular irrigation of the bowel for persons with a permanent colostomy of the descending or sigmoid colon. Although this technique was first described in the 1920s, a recent study of 985 WOC nurses found that almost half (47%) do not routinely teach CI to persons with colostomies. Abdominal wound dehiscence is a serious complication of laparotomy, and fascial dehiscence in a patient with a stoma is especially difficult to manage. We describe how we performed local skin flap reconstruction for abdominal wound dehiscence in two patients with stomas. OBJECTIVE: Krukenberg tumors in pregnancy are extremely rare. Only three cases have been reported, two of which were diagnosed postpartum.
CASE REPORT: A 20-year-old, primigravida with bilateral malignant ovarian tumors, who received no prior antenatal care, was presented with intestinal obstruction at 5 months' gestation. Pregnancy was preserved, and bilateral oophorectomy, omentectomy with resection of sigmoid colon growth, and colostomy were performed. The patient aborted spontaneously and postoperatively, and was treated with adjuvant chemotherapy.

Internal iliac artery aneurysm is a rare cause of lower gastro-intestinal tract (GIT) haemorrhage. A fifty-four year old male patient presented with massive rectal bleeding. We report on a 22-year-old man with congenital hypogammaglobulinemia who developed multiple colorectal neoplasms. Minor and reversible gastrointestinal side effects are common when patients receive interleukin-2 (IL-2) with or without lymphokine-activated killer (LAK) cells. We treated 42 cancer patients with IL-2 therapy and 3 patients developed serious gastrointestinal problems during treatment. Complete rectal prolapse is uncommon in adults. Out of 129,525 patients treated at our teaching hospital over a five-year period, only 29 patients were managed with complete rectal prolapse. The total mean-age was 52 years with an approximate 1:2 male-female ratio. Two of the patients had their prolapse for 16 years before presentation. Seventeen previously unreported cases of clear-cell adenocarcinoma originating in the vagina (13) and cervix (four) are presented. The mean age of the patients was 23.6 years. Four patients with cervical tumors and four patients with vaginal tumors underwent radical hysterectomy, bilateral pelvic lymphadenectomy, and partial vaginectomy. Two autopsy cases of CMV colitis in AIDS are reported. Intestinal manifestations lasted 2 and 5 months in each case and included: diarrhea and abdominal colic pain.
