PURPOSE: The American Joint Committee on Cancer currently designates invasion of the bladder neck as a pT4 lesion. However, retrospective analyses have not demonstrated biochemical recurrence-free survival after radical prostatectomy to be consistent with other T4 lesions. CONTEXT: The ocular adnexal lymphomas (OAL) arise in the conjunctiva, orbit, lacrimal gland, and eyelids. To date, they have been clinically staged using the Ann Arbor staging system, first designed for Hodgkin and later for nodal, non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The Ann Arbor system has several shortcomings, particularly when staging extranodal non- Hodgkin lymphomas, such as OAL, which show different dissemination patterns from nodal lymphomas.

The changes occurring in the extracellular matrix structure and composition greatly affect cell behavior. The present investigation has indicated that active tenascin-C expression is observed in malignant pheochromocytomas, suggesting the altered composition of the extracellular matrix, there is also activation of metalloproteinase-9 and cyclooxygenase-2, which play an important role in many biological processes, including the invasion and metastatic spread of tumor cells, as well as in neoangiogenesis. Benign pheochromocytomas display a slight immunopositive staining of these antigens.

METHODS: Between 1957 and 2007, a total of 12 patients (8 men) underwent pancreaticoduodenectomy combined with right hemicolectomy for colon cancer involving the pancreas head.

Cardiac tumors are rare, and metastatic deposits are more common than primary cardiac tumors. We present cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings of a 50-year-old woman with invasive thymoma. Cardiac MRI revealed a heterogeneous, lobulated anterior mediastinal mass invading the superior vena cava and extending to the right atrium. A study of the possible difference in outcome for positive margins for invasive carcinoma (IC) versus ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), and with regard to different age categories in a large prospective cohort of patients with invasive breast cancer.
