AIMS: Pulsed field ablation (PFA) is an emerging non-thermal ablative modality demonstrating considerable promise for catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation (AF). However, these PFA trials have almost universally included only Caucasian populations, with little data on its effect on other races/ethnicities. We present two cases of patients with inaccessible femoral veins referred for ablation of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF) who underwent Jugular access pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) with the pentaspline pulsed field ablation system. To our knowledge, there is only one other case reported of usage of this system via a superior approach by Mol et al. (Journal of Interventional Cardiac Electrophysiology (2023) 66:835-836).

This study explored the effect of constant-current pulsed electric field thawing (CC-T) on the proteins and water-holding capacity of pork. Fresh meat (FM), and frozen meat after constant-voltage thawing (CV-T), air thawing (AT) and water immersion thawing (WT) were considered as controls. The results indicated that CC-T had a higher thawing rate than conventional thawing during ice-crystal melting stage (-5 to -1 °C).
