In developmental dysplasia of the hip, a deficient acetabulum may be augmented by placing local autogenous iliac osseous graft, or the ilium itself, over the head of the femur with the expectation that the added bone will function as a bearing surface. An urgent liver echinococcectomy due to cyst rupture and peritonitis was performed in 15 children, aged 7-14 years. 10 patients were operated on laparoscopically, 5 children had an open operation. A 4-throacar access was used. After aspiration of free hydatid fluid from the peritoneal cavity, a chitin capsule was aspirated. A fibrous capsule was processed with betadine 1% solution. The cyst cavity was drained. All patients received albendazole (10 mg/kg) during 4 weeks postoperatively. Laparoscopic method proved to be more preferable then open technique.

A 13-year-old boy with Marfan's syndrome presented with bilateral, acute, complete anterior dislocation of the crystalline lens. The lens substance was aspirated intracapsularly after 2 linear capsulotomies were created. The empty capsular bag was removed from the eye as a vitrectome was used to severe the adhesions between the capsule and vitreous face through 1 paracentesis and a forceps was used to pull the capsule through the other paracentesis. Aphakia was corrected by glasses and contact lenses. Two years after surgery, the best corrected visual acuity was 20/32 in both eyes.

We report 2 cases of primary extranodal perirenal malignant lymphoma. Complete examination of the retroperitoneum confirmed that the disease was confined to the perirenal space and was not associated with nodal or other body site involvement. 32 patients in whom recurrent dislocations or instability of the shoulder had been diagnosed, were examined via CT. Air was used as contrast agent. The results of pneumarthro-CT were re-checked 28 times by surgery and 6 times by arthroscopy. In all cases, Hill-Sachs defects and bony Bankart lesions had been correctly diagnosed. There were no faulty findings. Rate of accuracy of CT in detecting ruptures of the joint capsule from the neck of the scapula was 94%, in detecting lesions of the labrum glenoidale 88%, and in imaging an extended joint capsule 84%.

The cellular response in lens remnants was studied after ECCE in the rabbit eye. Following capsulotomy, the lens content was gently exprimated. No aspiration/irrigation was performed.
