Cyclic cooperativity contributions determine the hydrogen bond strengths in molecular clusters.

In a recent communication (A. Shivhare, B. Dehariya, S. R. Gadre and M. M. Deshmukh, Phys. Chem. Chem. Phys., 2024, 26, 21332), we proposed a method for calculating the energy of a hydrogen bond (HB), which is common to two or more cyclic networks of HBs in water (H2O)n clusters. For this purpose, the sum of the cooperativity contributions (CCs) of these cyclic structures, estimated using the molecular tailoring approach (MTA)-based method, was added to the energy of this HB in the respective water dimer isolated from the cluster. The HB energies calculated in this fashion (ESynergeticHB) were

Green solvent-processed n-type fluorinated salt/single-walled carbon nanotube film with high performance for multifunctional wearable thermoelectric devices.

Developing high-performance n-type thermoelectric materials is critical for advancing wearable energy harvesting and sensing technologies. Herein, a series of novel n-type single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) composite films are doped with fluorinated salts via a simple vacuum filtration method. Moreover, ethanol, as an environmentally friendly solvent, is utilized in the material preparation process, effectively replacing toxic and harmful solvents. Through systematic molecular design and density functional theory (DFT) analysis, it demonstrates that cation structure modulates doping efficie

Interfacial self-healing engineered bifunctional quasi-solid electrolyte for high-performance lithium-sulfur batteries.

Given their low cost and high energy density, lithium‑sulfur batteries (LSBs) are an appealing alternative for next-generation battery systems. However, the shuttle effect of polysulfides and the growth of lithium dendrites during battery operation severely hinder the practical application of LSBs. Here, we propose an interfacial self-healing strategy to prepare the bifunctional Polyvinylidene fluoride-hexafluoropropylene (PVDF-HFP)/Graphene oxide (GO)/Copper benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxylate (HKUST-1)/Borate bond Quasi-Solid-State Electrolyte (PHGKB QSSE), which significantly improves the electroc

Improved electro-assisted adsorption of anticancer drug 5-fluorouracil and its subsequent anodic degradation with synchronized electro reactivation of activated carbon electrodes.

5-Fluorouracil (5-FU) is among the chemotherapeutic drugs considered emerging contaminants, highly water-soluble, persistent, and mobile organic compounds (PMOCs) detected in water bodies, which have harmful and cytotoxic effect on aquatic biota. Its high hydrophilicity causes conventional water treatment processes, including adsorption, to exhibit low efficiencies of its removal. The novelty of this work lies in the study of the electroadsorption behavior of 5-FU on commercial granular activated carbon used as a packed working electrode in a three-electrode asymmetrical electrochemical cell,

Synergistic thermal treatment of mixed lithium iron phosphate and lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxide black mass for improved recycling operations.

Various approaches are being investigated to recover valuable materials from end-of-life lithium-ion batteries, particularly for lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxide (NMC) and lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cathode chemistries. Graphite recovery has gained increasing interest due to its classification as a critical raw material, with Flotation being a promising process for its recovery from black mass. A requirement for successfully realizing this process is the removal of binders from the anode and cathode surfaces, which is usually achieved through thermal treatment. This paper investigates t

Advances in molecular imaging for osteoarthritis.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a complex, multifactorial joint disease and a leading contributor to global disability. Despite its high prevalence and socioeconomic burden, no curative or preventive therapies currently exist. The ability to detect early OA, or even "pre-OA" could provide the opportunity for earlier interventions. Current conventional imaging modalities such as radiography and Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are limited by their inability to detect early pathophysiological molecular changes. This review highlights the potential of positron emission tomography (PET) imaging to transfor

Development of a Femtosensitive Electrochemical Aptasensor for Tuberculosis Ag85B Detection.

Tuberculosis (TB) disease continues to pose a major global health challenge, particularly in resource-limited settings where access to rapid, sensitive, and affordable diagnostic tools remains limited. Traditional methods, such as sputum smear microscopy and culture techniques, are time-consuming, lack sensitivity, and often require well-equipped laboratories, making them unsuitable for rapid, point-of-care diagnostics. To address these challenges, developing a rapid, sensitive, and selective biosensor is essential for the early detection of TB. Aptamer-based biosensors offer a promising appro

Biotransformation of 6:2/4:2 fluorotelomer alcohols by Dietzia aurantiaca J3: Enzymes and proteomics.

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are recalcitrant synthetic organohalides known to negatively impact human health. Short-chain fluorotelomer alcohols are considered the precursor of various perfluorocarboxylic acids (PFCAs) in the environment. Their ongoing production and widespread detection motivate investigations of their biological transformation. Dietzia aurantiaca strain J3 was isolated from PFAS-contaminated landfill leachate using 6:2 fluorotelomer sulphonate (6:2 FTS) as a sulphur source. Resting cell experiments were used to test if strain J3 could transform fluorotelomer a
