Five cases of rhinosporidiosis are reported for the first time from Trinidad and Tobago. All patients were males. The conjunctiva was the site of the lesion in four cases, the nose in one case.

Heiner syndrome (HS) is a rare hypersensitivity reaction of an infant or young child to cow milk proteins. It is a disease characterised by failure to thrive, respiratory symptoms like cough, dyspnoea, wheeze and rhinitis with accompanying chest infiltrates on chest radiograph; gastrointestinal symptoms like vomiting, diarrhoea; and anaemia. An adult male mandrill (Mandrillus sphinx) suffered from chronic ulceration of the facial and gluteal skin and the oral and nasal mucosa. Nasal obstruction is one of the most common symptoms pediatric patients present to their physicians with. Usually this symptom is caused by allergic rhinitis or an upper respiratory infection, however, many conditions present with nasal obstruction. In the pathology of recidive infection of upper and lower respiratory tract the chronic diseases of the paranasal sinuses play an important role. The authors ordered for their FESS patients a control examination, 1 year after operation. They present examination data of 30 patients.
