We analyzed the distribution and organization of the pathological prion protein isoform (PrPsc) in the brain of new variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease using a sensitive post-embedding immunogold electron microscopy method. Over a period of 18 months the following non-traumatic methods of treating dental caries in deciduous teeth were compared: application of stannous fluoride (SnF2); application of SnF2 and silver diamine fluoride (SDF); application of SnF2, SDF, minimal cavity preparation and use of composite resin; minimal cavity preparation and composite resin only; no treatment. The use of Papanicolaou-stained touch preparations of gastric antral biopsies for the identification of Campylobacter pylori was examined using specimens obtained from 63 consecutive patients with endoscopic evidence of antral gastritis, with the results compared to routine histologic examination and Warthin-Starry silver staining. Achieving accurate detection of dual metal ions remains crucial challenging in the domains of ion sensing and cell imaging. Herein, glutathione (GSH)-modified MoS2 quantum dots (QDs) were synthesized via a simple one-step hydrothermal method. Upon excitation at 326 nm, the GSH-MoS2 QDs emit blue fluorescence and exhibit significant fluorescence quenching in the presence of Fe³⁺ and Ag⁺ ions, with a linear response at low concentrations.
