Infectious tuberculous tenosynovitis (TS) is an unusual occurrence in the forearm, wrist, or hand. Here we report a case of tuberculous TS of the wrist in a 26-year-old male with no comorbidities. The patient presented with a nonhealing ulcer on the palmar aspect of the proximal part of the left little finger with restricted mobility. There were no other symptoms to confirm the existence of an active tuberculosis infection in this patient. This case report helps broaden our knowledge about the different presentations of tuberculous TS in a patient with no history of exposure to tuberculosis.

We present a case of a complex suicide of a 66-year-old man with a history of several psychiatric disorders. He attempted to commit suicide by inflicting cut wounds on his forearms, wrists, and neck but afterwards changed the method of suicide by using an electric power drill. After several unsuccessful attempts to drill a hole in either his head, thorax, or abdomen, he managed to perforate the common carotid artery on the right side of his neck and subsequently died from exsanguination.

The use of medical tattoos can potentially be life-saving. We present a 16-year-old patient who chose to tattoo a medical condition on her forearm. Her tattoo is more extensive than most medical tattoos and shows the measures a mother will take to ensure her daughter's safety. To our knowledge, there are no published guidelines recommending an ideal location or symbology for a medical tattoo. Such guidelines would be useful to artists, as well as to medical personnel in emergencies if the patient has a tattoo.

Treatment of forearm nonunion associated with bone defects can be challenging. Restoring the correct length and rotation are two main principles for the management of these patients. Herein, we describe a patient with isolated radius nonunion already treated with an iliac crest autograft with no success. A free vascularized osteoseptocutaneous fibular autogenous graft was harvested as the final solution to managed long bone defect after previous multiple surgeries. At the 1- year follow-up, the patient gained full range of motion and was functioning well.

CASE: We present a case in which underlengthening of the radius allowed proximal migration of the radius and ulnocarpal abutment in a patient with a comminuted radial head fracture and concomitant longitudinal forearm instability.
CONCLUSION: Radial head arthroplasty is a common treatment for comminuted, displaced radial head fractures. Ideally, the dimensions of the radial head implant should match the native anatomy to restore elbow stability and kinematics. Underlengthening the radius by placing a small radial head implant can lead to carpal abutment at the wrist level.

Eccrine naevus (EN) is a rare skin hamartoma included in the organoid group of epidermal naevi, histologically defined as focal hyperplasia and/or hypertrophy of eccrine glands. Clinically, EN usually presents as hyperhidrotic patches with no visible skin changes, frequently located on the forearms. We report the case of a 12-year-old boy with a calcaneal fracture due to a simple supination trauma. As magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed a non-displaced extra-articular fracture no surgical treatment was necessary. A conservative therapy using calcaneal fracture orthosis with full weight bearing was carried out. Using this procedure allowed a comfortable means of movement without the need for a plaster cast immobilization or forearm crutches accompanied by a rapid return of the child to the normal daily routine.

Proximal radioulnar translocation with radial neck fracture and elbow dislocation is extremely rare. We report a case of a 5-year-old boy who was presented with elbow dislocation, and proximal radioulnar translocation was diagnosed a day after the injury. Mini-open technique was used to reduce the translocation and radial neck fracture. The patient finally regained full range of elbow motion and forearm rotation. This case had clinical importance in that the reverse instability of the elbow was observed compared with the previous reports.

A 69-year-old man presented shortness of breath and acute renal failure. He had undergone pulmonary partial resection for lung cancer 5 months prior. On examination, severe hypertension, skin sclerosis of his forearms, and anticentromere antibody were observed. A renal biopsy specimen showed characteristic findings for scleroderma renal crisis, and a right heart catheterization revealed severe pulmonary arterial hypertension. Re-examination of the resected lung specimen revealed sclerodermatous vascular involvement was present.

Calcinosis cutis is characterized by deposition of calcium salts in the subcutaneous tissues in the body. In this study, we described a case of calcinosis cutis that was diagnosed by fine needle aspiration (FNA) in a 15-year-old male. The patient presented with multiple nodules over right forearm and right knee. FNA smears showed flakes of amorphous material indicating calcium along with few macrophages. The presence of amorphous calcium salts along with histiocytes in the appropriate clinical settings is diagnostic of calcinosis cutis.

UNLABELLED: The authors report an unusual case wherein a fasciocutaneous free flap from an amputated upper limb was used to repair a severe soft tissue injury of the ipsilateral forefoot and ankle. After amputating the nonviable portions of the forefoot, a residual limb flap from the patient's forearm, pedicled with the brachial artery, was used to cover the lower extremity defect. Three years after the injury, the patient was able to maintain balance and ambulate without assistance on the reconstructed lower extremity.

We present a case of complete traumatic extrusion of the distal 40% of the ulna through the hypothenar eminence in the context of an open, both-bone forearm fracture and spinal cord transection. To the best of our knowledge, this specific trauma is unique to the literature, and, therefore, there is no standard treatment approach. Our patient was managed with irrigation and débridement along with open reduction and internal fixation of the radius fracture. No reconstruction of the ulna was performed. The patient reported excellent functional results at 13-month follow-up.

We report a case of postsurgical wound infection of polymicrobial etiology caused by Serratia marcescens and Pseudomonas aeruginosa following the use of a radial forearm free flap for oncological tongue reconstruction. S. marcescens was a producer of SHV-12 extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL). This is the first report from India of this ESBL. S. marcescens and P. aeruginosa were resistant to the empirical perioperative antibiotics administered. Delay in the recognition of the type of infection and in the institution of appropriate therapy resulted in total loss of the free flap.

Two cases of hypertrichosis cubiti in combination with short stature, facial dysmorphias and retarded development are reported with a review of the literature. Hypertrichosis cubiti, the hairy elbows syndrome, consists of a localized form of long vellus hair on the extensor surfaces of the distal third of the upper arm and the proximal third of the forearm bilaterally. It can be associated with short stature and other physical abnormalities. The mode of inheritance has not been established yet; an autosomal recessive as well as an autosomal dominant inheritance trait are postulated.

Ipsilateral radial head dislocation with radial shaft fracture is a rare injury. A few cases have been reported in the literature. We report the case of a 39-year-old man who presented with a radial shaft fracture and ipsilateral dislocation of the radial head caused by hyperpronation trauma of the forearm with hyperflexion of the elbow. The dislocation was reduced by manipulation after open reduction of the radial shaft fracture, which was then fixed with a plate. The clinical and radiological outcome was good with 2 years follow-up.

Angiolipomas are benign tumors usually found in the forearms of young adults. To the best of our knowledge only 63 cases of spinal angiolipomas have been reported in the literature up until 1999 (MEDLINE 1966-1999). We report a case of a spinal angiolipoma causing dorsal cord compression in a 44-year-old woman presenting with subacute lower limb paresthesias, in the absence of sensory or motor findings, which mimicked multiple sclerosis by history. Operative intervention was curative.

A cutaneous wound subjected to continuous irritation has an increased potential for malignant degeneration. The types of trauma that may give rise to the initial injury are diverse and have been well documented. We report a case of one such lesion in a 65-year-old man who had a persistent right forearm wound for over three years. The wound arose from the site of venous cannula puncture. Malignant transformation occurred in a manner comparable to that seen in other chronic lesions (Marjolin's ulcer).

A 45-year-old Malay lady developed brisk vesicular, plaque-like reaction to a Mantoux test concomitant with a diagnosis of acute myeloid leukaemia (AML). The lesion resolved one month after chemotherapy. Similar lesions developed later after she was bitten by mosquitoes on the forearms. She also had the lesions over her cheek. A skin biopsy showed infiltration of the dermis with neutrophils and some monocytoid cells. The lesion resolved one week after prednisolone therapy.
