Under a long treatment of cells CHO-6 with 5-bromodeoxyuridine and colcemid it was discovered that dicentric chromosomes in metaphases of the first division of polykaryocytes contained micronuclei. Techniques have been studied which distinguish two variants of human alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) on the basis of characteristics of the carbohydrate moiety of this glycoprotein. OBJECTIVE: Transgenic (Tg) mice expressing chimeras of mouse and human prion proteins (PrPs) have shorter incubation periods for Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) prions than mice expressing full-length human PrP.
