The increase of the contents of serum IgA, IgG, IgM on the edge of long non-cicatrizing gastric ulcer was determined. At the same time the level of SIgA decreased in comparison with unaltered gastric mucosa. It is shown that the immunoglobulin content in the healed ulcer cicatrice depended on treatment method. Eight cases of cutaneous leishmaniasis are recorded among soldiers of the Brazilian Forest Infantry stationed in Belém, State of Pará, north of Brazil. The infections, all acquired during manoeuvres in nearby degraded primary forest, are attributed to a new member of the subgenus Viannia, Leishmania (V.) lindenbergi n. sp. The province of Misiones reported 205 leishmaniasis cases during 1998, 98% of them from the locality of Puerto Esperanza. The reports of Puerto Esperanza Hospital (January to September 1998) for leishmaniasis were analysed (n: 129). A case of ureteral lymphoma with no other areas of involvement was incidentally discovered on MRI examination. Bilateral ureteral soft tissue infiltration, asymmetrical hydronephrosis, and abnormal enhancement of lymphomatous tissue were noted.
