BACKGROUND: Photocoagulation, cryotherapy and radiotherapy have been used to treat angiomatous lesions. Depending on the location of the angioma, these treatments can cause additional, significant functional damage. Photodynamic therapy (PDT) however, allows a selective occlusion of vascular lesions without damaging adjacent retinal structures.

PURPOSE: To describe the clinical presentations and outcomes of rhegmatogenous retinal detachments (RRD) in eyes with retinitis pigmentosa.
METHODS: A retrospective review of all patients of retinitis pigmentosa with RRD from January 1990 to December 2013 at a tertiary eye care institute.

The nationwide study of epikeratophakia for the treatment of keratoconus involved 69 surgeons in the United States; they operated on 177 eyes as of Dec 31, 1985.
