Azelnidipine (Calblock) is a newly developed dihydropyridine-type calcium antagonist for the treatment of hypertension. In hypertensive animals, a single oral administration of azelnidipine caused a slowly developed and long-lasting hypotensive effect with a little reflex tachycardia. The aim of this study was to describe the course of parathyroid hormone (PTH) and serum calcium after surgery for primary hyperparathyroidism, and to evaluate the usefulness of daily measurement of these parameters. Organelle transport by myosin-V is down-regulated during mitosis, presumably by myosin-V phosphorylation. We used mass spectrometry phosphopeptide mapping to show that the tail of myosin-V was phosphorylated in mitotic Xenopus egg extract on a single serine residue localized in the carboxyl-terminal organelle-binding domain.
