A mother and her son, both with tubulointerstitial nephritis and uveitis syndrome (TINU) are reported. The nephritis presented itself at 13 years in the mother and at 10 years in her son. Glomerular filtration (GFR) decreased in both, and renal biopsies confirmed the diagnosis. Nephritis preceded the onset of uveitis in both. We report on a patient with severe serum sickness induced by carbamazepine in whom anticarbamazepine IgG antibodies were detected in the serum. The T cells of the patient showed impairment of phytohemagglutinin-induced proliferation, and hypergammaglobulinemia was evident. A factor was isolated from bovine follicular fluid (FF) that blocked progesterone-induced maturation of Xenopus oocytes. The results obtained in the study of the dynamics of systemic and local immunity characteristics in children with prolonged and chronic dysentery under the influence of vaccinal therapy are presented.
