BACKGROUND: Protrusion of the abdominal wall secondary to abdominoplasty may occur in patients with weakness of the aponeurotic structures. The anterior layer of the rectus abdominis muscle consists of fibers that are transverse rather than vertical. Based on this anatomical feature, vertical sutures are suggested for the correction of diastasis recti, since they include a greater amount of fascial fibers and thus would be more resistant to tensile strength than horizontal ones.

PURPOSE: Aim of this study was to report our experiences with tubularized incised plate (TIP) repair without placement of a postoperative urethral stent in 41 cases.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: Since October 2005, we have performed TIP repair for distal penile hypospadias without using a postoperative urethral stent. A urethral stent is used intraoperatively for the tubularization of the neourethra and is removed at the end of the procedure. In reconstructing a large defect of the vulva, we combined the gluteal fold and the pudendal thigh flaps and made a bilobed flap. Using this gluteal fold pudendal thigh bilobed flap, we reconstructed a vagina with sufficient depth and width. The surrounding skin defect was simultaneously reconstructed. Sensation was intact in all areas of the reconstruction. In addition, the sutured lines of both donor sites are hidden in the gluteal and inguinal folds. Thus, the gluteal fold pudendal thigh bilobed flap seems to be ideal for reconstructing large vulvar defects.

Our aims are to present a case of primary melanoma of the umbilicus and to discuss the best surgical treatment, as well as review the relevant literature.
RESULTS: Surgical excision of primary melanoma of the umbilicus must be carried out to reach the peritoneum. Sentinel lymph node biopsy must be carried as well as plastic reconstruction.

BACKGROUND: Vohwinkel syndrome or keratoderma hereditaria mutilans is a rare autosomal dominant palmoplantar keratosis which manifests in infants and becomes more evident in adulthood. Patients with this mutation present hyperkeratosis of the palms and soles, constricting bands of the digits, usually at the fifth, and starfish-shaped hyperkeratosis on the dorsal aspects of the hands and feet. The disease mostly occurs in white women, where constricting fibrous bands appear on the digits and can lead to progressive strangulation and auto-amputation (pseudo-ainhum).

BACKGROUND: One of the goals of genital construction in female-to-male transsexuals is the creation of an aesthetically acceptable result, both for phallus and scrotum, leaving minimal morbidity and recreating function. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate endourethral surgery for urethratresia under the X-ray guide.
METHODS: We performed transurethral urethroplasty for 11 patients with urethratresia using the PlasmaKinetic electrodes under the guidance of C arm xanthippe.
RESULTS: In the 11 cases, operations were all successful, 9 achieved smooth urination and 2 needed regular urethral dilation.
CONCLUSION: X-ray guided internal urethroplasty with PlasmaKinetic electrodes is a simple and efficient treatment for urethratresia.
