Extraction and Identification of Active Components from Lilium lancifolium Based on NADES-UHPLC-MS/MS Technology.

The bulb of Lilium lancifolium, a traditional Chinese medicine and food-homologous material, is rich in various saponins with notable pharmacological activities. However, traditional extraction methods using single solvents suffer from low efficiency, high cost, and flammability. To address these limitations, this study developed a green and efficient extraction method using natural deep eutectic solvents (NADES). Twenty-four NADES were synthesized and screened for stability, leading to the selection of fourteen for subsequent extraction of saponins from L. lancifolium, with ethanol extraction

Physicochemical and functional characteristics of glycated collagen protein from giant salamander skin induced by ultrasound Maillard reaction.

Chinese giant salamander skin collagen (CGSSC) was successfully conjugated with glucose (Glu)/xylose (Xy) by ultrasound Maillard reaction (MR) in nature deep eutectic solvents (NADES). The effects of ultrasound and reducing sugar types on the degree graft (DG) of MR products (MRPs), as well as the influence of DG on the structure and functional properties of MRPs were investigated. The results indicated that the ultrasound assisted could markedly enhance the MR of CGSSC, and low molecular weight reducing sugars were more reactive in MR. The ultrasound MR significantly changed the microstructur

Development of an electrochemical enzymatic lactate sensor covered by a non-volatile poly(vinyl alcohol)-based water-in-eutectogel.

Biosensors coated with hydrogels exhibit high performance by providing structural and functional stability to the bioreceptors mounted on the sensing element. However, the volatility of the gel solvent (water) limits stable measurements. In this study, a non-volatile poly(vinyl alcohol) gel consisting of a biocompatible and non-volatile deep eutectic solvent and bound water (water-in-eutectogel) was prepared and used as the reaction medium for an enzyme sensor. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first proof-of-concept study worldwide. The water-in-eutectogel did not volatilize for more

Beyond Composition: Structure-Activity Relationships in Bioactive Deep Eutectic Systems.

Deep eutectic systems (DESs) have evolved from sustainable solvent alternatives to promising bioactive platforms with reported antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, regenerative, cryoprotective, and cytoprotective properties. However, despite the growing number of biological studies, the mechanistic basis of these effects remains poorly understood because biological activity is still interpreted predominantly from the chemical identity of the hydrogen-bond donor and acceptor, rather than from the supramolecular organization of the eutectic system itself. This review is intended to provide anyone i
