Acute generalized pustular psoriasis is an uncommon but dangerous form of psoriasis with a systemic presentation. Acute exacerbation, an early picture of acute generalized pustular psoriasis (AGPP), can be fatal, therefore, early recognition and systemic therapy is critical. It is an important differential diagnosis of erythroderma. Epidemiology, etiology, diagnosis, and treatment options are discussed in this paper.

The most frequent site of organ involvement in patients with any form of mastocytosis is the skin. Cutaneous expressions include urticaria pigmentosa, mastocytoma, diffuse and erythrodermic cutaneous mastocytosis, and telangiectasia macularis eruptiva perstans. The cutaneous lesions tend to appear early in life. Although urticaria pigmentosa has been reported in 12 pairs of twins and one set of triplets, the majority of affected individuals have no familial association. Most patients with systemic mastocytosis have skin lesions; however, an occasional patient will have systemic disease with no

The comparative pattern of 3H-thymidine (3H-T) pulse labelling in lesions of psoriatic erythroderma (3 cases) and of psoriasis vulgaris (20 cases) has been studied by means of radioautography. In the epidermis, no difference was noted between the two types of lesions concerning the epidermal 3H-T labelling index (L.I.) and the localization of labelled cells. The 3H-T L.I. of "round" cells infiltrating the dermis was much higher in lesions of psoriatic erythroderma (4.03 +/- 0.56%) than in lesions of psoriasis vulgaris (0.62 +/- 0.21%), and the difference is highly significant (p less than 0.00
