Specimens from 153 consecutive patients were cultivated for C. pylori, and findings were correlated to the endoscopic findings. C. pylori was cultivated more frequently from males than from females. In ten patients where ampullary carcinoma was proved, ultrasonography has been performed in 9 cases and failed in 1 case. The results reported, could be put into two different groups.
