The case of a one-year-old Nigerian with tuberculous panophthalmitis is reported. He presented initially with a localised episceleral mass which was thought to be retinoblastoma due to rapid spread over the fundus induced by subconjunctival depromedrol. Histological examination of the enucleated eye showed that the lesion was due to tuberculosis. The subsequent favorable response of the ocular and radiological chest lesions to antituberculous therapy was quite remarkable. PURPOSE: It remains unknown whether choroidal circulation could be altered at the onset of immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) uveitis compared with that before ICI treatment. Herein we report a patient with Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada (VKH) disease-like uveitis in the unaffected eye as an immune-related adverse effect (irAE) due to ICIs for metastatic choroidal melanoma who had received enucleation. Primary adenocarcinoma of the nonpigmented ciliary epithelium (NPCE) is a very rare disease and the majority of acquired cases were treated by enucleation. We report the case of a 19-year-old man who had an adenocarcinoma arising from the NPCE. The tumor was found incidentally due to changed pupil shape. An excisional biopsy was performed and histopathological examination showed primary adenocarcinoma of the NPCE with a positive resection margin. A 13-year-old boy developed Clostridium perfringens panophthalmitis due to a penetrating scleral injury. The characteristic symptoms were unusually severe periocular pain, lid edema, decreased motility and protrusion of the eye, severe conjunctival chemosis, pus covering the conjunctiva and cornea, green-brown hypopyon, gas bubbles in the anterior chamber, and amaurosis within 60 hours. In view of the patient's ocular status and impaired general condition enucleation was unavoidable. The results of laboratory workups are reported in addition to the clinical and ophthalmologic findings.

Twenty patients with malignant uveal melanoma were treated at the The Svedbergh cyclotron in Uppsala from 1989 to 1991. Each tumour received a total dose of 54.6 Gy in four equal fractions on four following days. After treatment the melanoma in all eyes showed decrease in size combined with irradiation retinopathy. In eight patients the treatment was successful after five years. Nine eyes had to be enucleated, two due to recurrence and seven due to neovascular glaucoma.
