A 55-year-old disabled man with glioblastoma multiforme was referred to us for fibroblast activation protein inhibitor (FAPI) PET/CT imaging. 68 Ga-DOTA-FAPI-46 scan revealed uptake in the primary tumor and unexpected uptakes in soft tissue, especially in periarticular regions. Pheochromocytomatosis refers to pheochromocytoma tumorlets developed as a result of seeding of tumor cells around the surgical bed due to intraoperative tumor capsule rupture and tumor cell spillage. PURPOSE: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the performance of gallium-67 scan (GS) and F-18 fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) PET scan in lymphoma staging and recurrence detection by comparing the 2 imaging studies in the same patient.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 42 patients from the period between July 2002 and May 2006 were included in this study. Of the 42 patients, 6 had Hodgkin disease and 36 had non-Hodgkin lymphomas. All of them underwent one or more FDG PET scans and also underwent corresponding GS performed within 7 days of FDG PET, for staging or detection of lymphoma recurrence

Eight cases of pulmonary embolism were evaluated with Ga-67 citrate scintigraphy. Of the eight patients, all but one showed evidence of abnormal Ga-67 citrate localization within involved regions of the lung as demonstrated by ventilation-perfusion lung scintigraphy. Two infants with pyogenic sacroiliitis are presented. In both babies, the clinical findings were initially attributed to septic arthritis of the ipsilateral hip. The correct diagnosis was not established in either infant until radionuclide scanning showed increased uptake in the ipsilateral sacroiliac joints. Both cases emphasize the importance of proceeding quickly to radionuclide imaging in the baby with clinical and laboratory findings of inflammation in the vicinity of the hip and a negative hip aspiration.

The appearance of gallium-67 images in bone infarction was studied in nine patients with sickle cell disease and correlated with the bone scan findings. Gallium uptake in acute infarction was decreased or absent with a variable bone scan uptake, and normal in healing infarcts, which showed increased uptake on bone scan. The significance of these findings is discussed.
