OBJECTIVE: Few large-scale studies have provided population-based estimates of hair cortisol levels and its determinants. This article presents results from 1872 hair samples, which were analyzed for fatty acid ethyl esters (FAEEs) and ethyl glucuronide (EtG). The results were evaluated in the context of self-reported drinking behavior, the use of hair cosmetics, the gender of the sample donors and hair sample length. AIM: The aim of this study was to evaluate the prevalence of hair loss after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG). The effects of variables on the likelihood that patients developed hair loss were also examined.

This research focused on the pyrolysis of discarded human hair under controlled environmental conditions. The effects of the mass of discarded human hair and temperature on bio-oil yield were studied. The proximate and ultimate analyses and calorific values of disposed of human hair, bio-oil, and biochar were determined.
