Complex investigations of the functional state of the visual analyser and vascular system has been carried out in 150 practically healthy members of a screw working in extreme conditions of a long-term voyage. It is shown that approximately one month after the beginning of the voyage the observed members of the screw developed signs of functional changes in visual acuity, light sensitivity, intraocular pressure level, hemodynamic indices. The main tendency is seen in some rise of the level of the studied indices within the first three-six months with their subsequent fall. Possible mechanisms

BACKGROUND AND METHODS: This article describes representative data on the availability of and individual participation in workplace health promotion (WHP) in Germany. These data are based on responses of 17 870 employees which were collected within the Labour Force Survey 2011/12 of the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training and the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. By comparison with data from the previous wave of the survey carried out in 2005/06 (N=17 803), medium-term trends in WHP are identified.
