Three-dimensional rotational angiography (3DRA) is useful for detecting, classifying and planning treatment for intracranial aneurysms. In 22 patients the regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF) was measured after intra-arterial injection of xenon 133Xe. In all patients cerebral angiography was performed after that and in 4 patients aortic arch angiography was done as well. BACKGROUND: Vascular compromise and subsequent tissue necrosis is a rare but disfiguring complication of dermal filler injection that frequently occurs in regions of the lip and nasolabial fold supplied by the superior labial artery (SLA).

We have reported two patients in whom absolute ethanol was used to sclerose arteriovenous malformations. Because of its low viscosity, liquid form, and devastating effect when injected intra-arterially, absolute ethanol is effective in treating AVMs, and it has been proven to have curative potential. For these same reasons it is also potentially harmful, particularly to nerves and possibly to skin.

Brain abscesses in rats were produced by intra-arterial injection of septic homologous blood clot emboli. The production rate was 100% and the histopathological features closely resembled those seen in other animal models and in spontaneously occurring brain abscesses in humans. This small-animal model may be useful for systematic study of the development of brain abscesses as well as for evaluation of various therapeutic procedures.

We report the results of intracarotid (IC) cisplatinum and intravenous carmustine (BCNU) in 26 patients with supratentorial malignant glioma and recurrent low grade glioma. A response rate of 53.84% (95% confidence interval 33.3%-73.4%) was found. The median survival for the whole group was 11 months (range 3-70), with 35% of patients surviving for 2 years.
