Ectopia lentis may cause a reduction in visual acuity, which varies with the type and degree of dislocation and the presence of other ocular abnormalities. Retinoscopy may reveal a significant refractive error, usually myopia and astigmatism. Occasionally, an accurate refraction may be difficult because of tilting or dislocation of the lens. If aphakic refraction improves visual acuity, an aphakic correction should be considered.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study is to evaluate and to compare the results of primary and secondary scleral-fixated posterior chamber intraocular lens (PCIOL) implantations in adult patients.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: A retrospective analysis of scleral-fixated PCIOLs-implanted during (primary group) or after (secondary group) cataract surgery was performed. The median follow-up time of 96 patients was 6 months (minimum: 6; maximum: 35 months). Outcome measures were indications, corrected distance visual acuity (CDVA), change in visual acuity and complications.

OBJECTIVE: To study the feasibility and safety of the combined triple/multi-surgery of vitrectomy-lensectomy and posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation.

Three brothers 9, 12, and 14 years of age were studied. The three of them fulfilled the diagnostic criteria of Marfan Syndrome that was made based on physical and ophthalmologic examination, these criteria included musculoskeletal abnormalities, subluxation of lens, myopia and aortic aneurysm.
