Generalization of data gained from the case records of patients with pancreonecrosis treated at 14 hospitals of Moscow allowed the authors to mark out typical errors in the diagnosis and therapeutic tactics which caused, to a considerable measure, mortality in 58.1 cases. The paper describes the authors' experience in using a [symbol: see text]JITB-01 hysterotubator in the diagnosis of amphora at a women's dispensary from 1991 to 1995. All females who had complaints of being infertile for two years were examined with the hysterotubator. They included 290 females aged 21 to 43 years. Taking into account reexaminations, such studies were 317 altogether. Long-term outcomes could be followed up in 67% of the examinees undergone kymopertubation. Pregnancy occurred in 7% of cases within the first six months after kymoperturbation.

The authors observed 32448 cases of alimentary toxoinfection (AT), 96.8% of which were females. Acute surgical abdominal conditions arose in 3.6% of them: appendicitis, cholecystitis, pancreatitis. Aggravation of chronic diseases occurred in 11.6% of the patients, hypertension and cholelithiasis being most frequent. 119 patients developed myocardial infarction, 266 hypertension crisis. Transvenous closure is described of the patent ductus arteriosus with a conical device that consists of polyurethane foam mounted on a stainless steel frame. Since 1981, the procedure has been performed in 273 patients in Russia. Permanent complete ductus closure was achieved in 258 (95%) patients. In eight cases (3%), the occlusion was incomplete. The experience of surgical treatment of 55 congenital mitral incompetence patients aged 3 to 34 years is analysed. Comprehensive serological studies enabled the legionellosis etiology of pneumonia to be established in 17.3% of cases in sporadic morbidity of children. The study of reptiles in the zoo has revealed the high level of Edwardsiella contamination in crocodiles (43%), snakes (36.4%), tortoises (23.6%) and, to a lesser extent, lizards (17.6%). All these reptiles are a natural source of Edwardsiella, and paleontological parallels, as well as the character of metabolic processes in Edwardsiella, allow referring them to the most ancient representatives of enterobacteria and date the appearance of these microorganisms from the beginning of the Mesosoic era and possibly from the end of the Paleosoic era.
