In order to achieve rapid and sensitive detection of clenbuterol (CLB) and ractopamine (RAC) in meat foods and ensure food safety, a magnetic nano-organic polymer (Fe3O4@SiO2@DVB-PSSNa) with π-π interaction, hydrogen bonding, and cation-exchange properties was synthesized for magnetic solid-phase extraction (MSPE) of CLB and RAC in pork. Taenia solium taeniasis/cysticercosis (TSTC) is a foodborne, zoonotic neglected tropical disease affecting predominately low- and middle-income countries. Humans are definitive hosts for T. solium, whereas pigs act as intermediate hosts. The epidemiology of trichinellosis in Germany was investigated by analyzing national surveillance data from 1996-2006. During this period, 95 laboratory-confirmed infections and 12 outbreaks were reported. Almost all cases of human listeriosis are foodborne, however the proportion where specific exposures are identified is small. Between 1981 and 2015, 5252 human listeriosis cases were reported in England and Wales. Salmonella spp. is the most frequent cause of foodborne diseases, and the increasing occurrence of MDR strains is an additional and increasing problem. We collected Salmonella spp. strains isolated from meat (poultry and pork) and analysed their antibiotic susceptibility profiles and the occurrence of resistance genes.
